Firstchance is a not-for-profit organisation based in Newcastle, NSW, dedicated to supporting over 500 children aged 0–12 years with a disability or developmental delay—and their families—each year through high-quality early intervention services. Established in 1978, Firstchance has been a trusted provider across the Hunter region for more than 45 years. We deliver tailored, evidence-based support through a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health professionals, Specialist Educators, and Family Support staff. Our services are offered in homes, early education settings, and throughout the community. We are funded through Federal and State Government programs, corporate partnerships, grants, and fundraising. Our commitment to best practice, innovation, and collaboration with community organisations and sector leaders ensures that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential and thrive within their community. Firstchance provides early intervention, therapy, and school-aged programs for children aged 0–12 years with a disability or developmental delay. Where appropriate, we continue to support children as they transition into their first year of high school. Our multidisciplinary team brings significant expertise in supporting children with a wide range of disabilities, including developmental delay, autism, chromosomal disorders, and genetic conditions.
