Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation
Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation (SRAC) is a not-for profit community organisation with Offices in Penrith & Harris Park. The Corporations focus is: – to comprehensively assess the needs of disabled and frail older people – to facilitate access to available care services appropriate to their care needs; and – to provide services to support Indigenous disabled and aged individuals within the Western Sydney area. SRAC recognises that indigenous clients face great challenges and have unique care needs and we assist them to meet these needs and gain more enjoyment from being a member of their communities. As an Indigenous organisation we fully recognise the importance of culture and the value of extended family, kinship networks and community in the Care and support of our aged and disabled clients. ABORIGINAL CARE SRAC Aboriginal Care provides assessment, information, advice and assistance to Aboriginal disabled and frail older people who want to remain at home with or without carer support. In the provision of aged care services this refers to people older than 50 years in the Indigenous community. INDIGENOUS DISABILITY ADVOCACY SERVICE (IDAS) IDAS offers Advocacy, information, support, complaints handling and links to other services. The service is funded to cover Western Sydney and some Regional areas of high need. ABORIGINAL ABILITY LINKS Ability Links NSW new way to support people with disability, their families and carers to access supports and services in their local communities. Linkers work with people with disability, their families and carers to help them plan for their future, build on their strengths and skills, and develop networks in their own communities. Linkers also work with local communities to help them become more welcoming and inclusive of people with disability. By linking people with a disability into the Community, we help them to live life their way, enjoying and achieving the things that interest them.
